How to reach Platanias and the conference hotel

Arrival by air
When you arrive at the Chania airport, transfer to the Conference site is possible by:
a)    Taxi
The most convenient method to get to the conference hotel/venue from all locations (airport / seaport / downtown) is to use a taxi. The approximate fare from Chania Airport is 45€.

b)    Public bus to Chania city (KTEL):
You can take the bus from the airport to Chania bus station at the cost of 4,50 Euros and then from there you change buses and take the bus for Platanias at the cost of about 1,90 Euros.  You can check out the times etc at http://bus-service-crete.com/default.html
There is a bus stop directly outside the Minoa Palace Hotel.

Arrival by boat
When you arrive at the Chania port, transfer to the Conference site is possible either by taxi (the approximate cost will be 50€ - 55€) or public bus to the city bus station (KTEL) like the instructions above

Heraklion airport
Another option is to get a flight to Heraklion airport which is directly connected to Athens International Airport with daily, domestic flights run by Aegean Airlines. 2-4 direct flights per day are coming in from Thessaloniki (SKG).
There are also other direct scheduled airline connections from major European cities as well as many charter flights from most European countries.
Alternatively, one can use the ferry-boat connecting Heraklion with the harbour of Piraeus (Athens).
Connection is offered by Minoan Lines & ANEK Lines and the overnight trip takes about 7 hours.

Please have in mind that if you choose to arrive in Heraklion, you can either take a taxi from Heraklion airport to Minoa Palace hotel in Chania, which is approx. 3 hours drive and the cost is 180€-200€ (we can arrange this for you) or take the city bus to the bus station of Heraklion (situated at the port) to Chania city at the cost of 26€ per person: http://www.ktelherlas.gr/?lang=en (KTEL). Then take a taxi which will cost approx. 20€ from Chania bus station to Minoa Palace hotel.
